The Westside Plastic Surgery team is excited to meet you! At your consultation appointment, Dr. Goggin will review your medical history,  discuss your goals, perform a brief physical examination, and then provide you with his professional recommendations. He will spend time reviewing before and after photos, discuss a variety of treatment options, and answer any questions that you may have. He takes his time to create a personalized plan to reach your desired aesthetic outcome. His team will then provide you information regarding recovery timeline, cost of procedure, and financing options. Dr. Goggin is knowledgeable in the latest research, techniques, and advances in the field to provide you the best care possible.

Pre-surgery

Before your surgery, our team will give you a pre-operative packet with a list of instructions in preparation for your surgery. We will spend time reviewing these instructions with you to ensure that you are confident and comfortable before your procedure. Our goal is to provide education and be there for you every step of the way. Patients should be off all blood thinners 2 weeks prior to surgery. We advise strict smoking/nicotine cessation 6 weeks prior to surgery and 6 weeks after.

Procedure Details

Prior to the start of the surgery, you will be given general anesthesia to ensure that you are comfortable during liposuction. Next, Dr. Goggin makes tiny incisions around the treatment area through which he can insert a cannula, or tiny tube, that is used to break apart excess fat cells. This same tube then suctions out the destroyed fat cells. Dr. Goggin can even mold some of the remaining fat cells to create an attractive, natural shape. Because this is an outpatient procedure, you may recover in the comfort of your own home, returning for periodic appointments to verify that you are healing well.

Recovery Timeline

Dr. Goggin and the Westside team will give you specific information regarding aftercare to optimize your post-op recovery. Our team will be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Recovery time can be variable between patients and surgeries. After liposuction surgery, recovery is typically 7-10 days. Most patients will require assistance for the first 24 hours after surgery.  We recommend you drink plenty of fluids, eat a healthy diet, and walk often to optimize healing.

Liposuction Costs

Liposuction Treatments Fort Worth

Liposuction begins at $6,000. The total price is determined by the number of areas you choose to treat and the size of these areas. After a surgical plan is devised during a consultation, Westside Plastic Surgery can provide you with a complete quote so that you may make an informed decision.

Because liposuction is an elective procedure, it is not covered by insurance. However, Westside Plastic Surgery does accept financing options from CareCredit and PatientFi, so that you can pay in installments if needed.

Complementary Procedures

Liposuction Fort Worth

Liposuction is a body contouring procedure that focuses on removing surplus fat cells. However, if the skin surrounding the fat has stretched and is no longer elastic enough to match the body’s new size, the loose skin may compromise the body’s contours. For that reason, many patients choose to combine liposuction with a skin tightening procedure such as arm lift, thigh lift, or tummy tuck.

Liposuction FAQS

Am I a good candidate for liposuction?

01

Ideal candidates for liposuction are close to their ideal weight with stubborn areas of fat that have been difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise. It is important to have realistic expectations of the procedure and to understand that liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure.

Will liposuction improve the appearance of cellulite?

02

Although liposuction removes excess fat and usually provides the skin with a smoother appearance, it is not considered a viable treatment for cellulite.

How long will the results of liposuction last?

03

Liposuction permanently removes fat cells. However, the remaining fat cells in the treated area(s) can still increase in size with weight gain. Therefore, maintaining a stable weight by following a healthy diet and exercise regimen will preserve the results.

How much weight can I lose with liposuction?

04

Most liposuction patients see only a modest difference (two or three pounds) on the scale. Keep in mind that liposuction is not a weight-loss surgery. It is most effective if you are close to your goal weight yet have stubborn pockets of fat that have been resistant to your diet and exercise efforts. If you are looking to lose a significant amount of weight, your best bet is to adopt a healthy lifestyle — or consider bariatric surgery if you are obese.

How soon can I enjoy my liposuction results?

05

You may notice that you have a sleeker physique after your surgery, but the full extent of your results will not be visible until your swelling has subsided. If you are looking forward to showing off your new body in the summer, it is a good idea to schedule your surgery at least a few months ahead so that the full results have time to manifest.

Is liposuction better than less invasive alternatives available today?

06

Liposuction remains the most popular fat reduction procedure because of how effective it is. None of the alternatives that have come out in recent years can achieve the kind of dramatic results that liposuction can. Fortunately, recovery from liposuction is easier and briefer than many forms of plastic surgery.

Why is loose skin a problem for some patients after liposuction?

07

With age, your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for keeping your skin taut, declines. This means that skin that stretched to cover your larger proportions may remain stretched out even after the procedure. If Dr. Goggin has concerns that your skin may not be elastic enough to produce appealing results, he will discuss those during a consultation and suggest complementary procedures that can achieve an ideal cosmetic outcome.
