What is Gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia is the enlargement or overgrowth of breast tissue in males. This can cause physical discomfort as well as anxiety or emotional distress. Gynecomastia surgery is a common surgery procedure to remove breast tissue and improve the contour of the chest. During your consultation we will obtain your medical history and perform a physical examination. Dr. Goggin will discuss your goals and give you his professional recommendations.

How Is gynecomastia treated?

Liposuction is utilized to remove fat. True gynecomastia tissue requires direct excision using a small discrete incision along the areola. Often liposuction and excision are performed together to achieve the optimal aesthetic result.

Common Reasons to have Gynecomastia Surgery

  • Restore Confidence: Enlarged breasts can cause significant embarrassment that affects self-esteem.
  • Wear Fitted Clothing: Excess fat tissue in the breasts often prevents men from wearing tighter clothing and discourages them from taking off their shirts in public. Male breast reduction surgery in Fort Worth at Westside Plastic Surgery improves the contours of the chest so that men can be comfortable no matter what they’re wearing.
  • Reduce Discomfort: Enlarged male breasts can be uncomfortable and even painful, which can impede performance during physical activities and athletics.
